FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
For a decade Alexandra (Alex) has pursued a vibrant career in Public Relations and communications. With unparalleled dedication to authenticity and service, Alex made a professional commitment to genuinely love the work she does and in doing so, is living out her professional pipe dream to better the business of philanthropy.
A graduate of DePaul University, Alex’s experience has spanned from supporting global brands like MillerCoors and Susan G. Komen to working locally with Friends of Prentice and the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation.
Passion and perseverance at the core, Alex’s entrepreneurial spirit took over in 2010, driving her to start her own communications company, AM Consulting (AMC), which exclusively works with nonprofit organizations. Located in Chicago’s innovative West Loop neighborhood, AMC boasts a successful track record of developing and implementing communications and development strategies for nonprofit organizations.
A media maven from the start, Alex’s clients have appeared everywhere from USA Today and the New York Times to Crain’s Chicago Business and the front page of the Chicago Tribune. Beyond the headlines, Alex works with her nonprofit clients to strengthen their bottom line and to date, touts a consistent history of increased revenue across her company’s client portfolio.
Determined to celebrate the impactful nature of the written word, Alex leverages the art of storytelling to strengthen each of her client’s missions and empower change-making constituencies to drive growth and sustainability on behalf of the organizations they serve.
DIRECTOR OF MEDIA RELATIONS
Ashley joins AM Consulting with seven years of agency experience having managed creative national and local media outreach efforts for major consumer brands, including Walgreens and Verizon. Ashley specializes in traditional and integrated media outreach, as well as developing and maintaining innovative influencer engagement programs that enhance strategic media plans.
A graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Communications, Ashley began her career in the private events industry before she was inspired to pursue Public Relations. In her current role, Ashley applies her vast media experience with national brands towards her passion for local Chicago organizations, including non-profits, local artists and food as Director of Media Relations at AM Consulting.
Born and raised in Oakland, California, Olivia brings a fresh perspective to the company. Currently finishing her final year at DePaul, Olivia is majoring in public relations and advertising with a minor in graphic design. Since she began her studies at DePaul, Olivia has been honing her leadership skills; serving as president of Delta Zeta Sorority and previously as founder and captain of the first ever DePaul Women’s Rowing team.
As Marketing intern at TransPak International Logistics, Olivia brought new and exciting public relations and marketing strategies along with great organizational skills. In this position she gained experience in becoming a self-starter, growing email marketing, designing collateral, and hosting events. Olivia also works for DePaul in the Office of Student Involvement where she serves as liaison between organizations on campus and the professional staff. She has been training in customer service and empathetic listening.
Olivia has an adventurous spirit, and has traveled many places including a term abroad in Budapest, Hungary. After returning from this experience with plenty of memories and a changed perspective, Olivia is ready take on Chicago with the rest of the AMC team!
Marissa is a new member of the AMC team. A cheese head at heart, Marissa is originally from Madison, Wisconsin. She is currently a junior at DePaul University double majoring in public relations and journalism. While at DePaul, Marissa has honed her writing skills, becoming involved with two media organizations on campus. Marissa is a founder of 14 East, DePaul’s online magazine, and now serves as the director of development for the publication. She is also the co-president of Her Campus DePaul, a publication written by college women, for college women.
Over the summer, Marissa interned at Classical Restaurants. While there, she had the opportunity to expand her digital marketing skills, evaluate marketing initiatives and execute a comprehensive communications campaign plan she developed herself.
Marissa is a list-loving news junkie with a passion for story telling. She is excited to bring her love of cheese and the written word to the AMC team.
New to the AMC team, Jess is a Chicago native, born and raised in Naperville, Illinois. She is currently a junior at DePaul University majoring in public relations, and minoring in journalism. While at DePaul, Jess participated in the FOX University program where she collaborated on a team of five to construct a corporate social responsibility campaign for the MLB. Her favorite part of the campaign was working with local nonprofits to create partnerships for the program. When she is not focused on academics, Jess is involved in her sorority, Delta Zeta, where she has served as an executive board member.
Last summer, Jess took her studies overseas to the Paris College of Art. There she studied fashion photography, during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Rumor has it the only items she consumed while in Paris were chocolate croissants and coffee.
Upon her return, Jess interned at The Door, where she gained expertise in the food and beverage realm of public relations. She brought her finely tuned writing and organizational skills to this position, while grasping a unique perspective on planning client events for some of Chicago’s most exquisite restaurants.
Jess spent last February alongside the Chicago Auto Trade Association’s media team, interning at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. After writing press releases and test driving the automotives industry, Jess is ready to put the pedal to the metal and take on all the exciting challenges AMC has ready for her!
